The nearly 200 miles of groomed trails within Yellowstone National Park provide opportunities to see our First National Park in its best season. Still to be explored are the hundreds of miles of trails groomed by West Yellowstone and the State of Idaho in the surrounding National Forests. From Cooke City, access over 60 miles of groomed trails that are maintained by the local volunteer snowmobile club, along with back-country deep powder that gives new meaning to DEEP, all in the spectacular setting of the Absaroka-Beartooth Mountains. This small alpine village receives an average of over 500 inches of snow per year, making Cooke City a paradise for sledding enthusiasts the world over.
