Hiking TrailsBear Track Trail8 miles - Technical Elevation: Gains 2,900ftBegins Rock Creek Canyon and Ends Silver Run Plateau The Beartrack Trail climbs from Rock Creek Canyon to the Silver Run Plateau at 10,000 feet. The trail crosses the plateau and connects with the Silver Run Plateau Trail. You can combine this trail with the Silver Run Plateau Trail for an 8-mile shuttle hike. Hellroaring Plateau Trail4.5 miles Elevation: 9810ft - 10400ftBegins: Hellroaring Plateau Trailhead – Ends: Sliderock Lake About 9 miles S of Red Lodge on Hwy 212, then R on Rock Creek Rd (FS 421), stay R and follow the road (steep and winding) to the top of Hellroaring Platuea. *NOTE* The trailhead at the end is for foot traffic only in the Wilderness Area. Line Creek Plateau Trail16 miles (one way) - steep Elevation: Gain/Loss +1,616/-5,830 ftThe views are incredible in every direction on this ride. S of Red Lodge, From the trailhead proceed SE for about 1.5 miles through a small canyon. The trail will then turn north and climb up onto Line Creek Plateau for another mile. Once on top the trail heads generally NE and follows the spine of the Plateau. The trail drops off the Plateau to the left and you lose elevation quickly. Drops 3500' in 4 miles! Parkside Trail2 miles Elevation: 6000+ftNear Main Fork of Rock Creek Parkside Recreational Trail is only 10 ½ miles south of Red Lodge and offers 2 miles of gently, open hiking terrain that parallels Rock Creek. Silver Run Trail5 mile loop Elevation: Gains 2,400+ftEasy to Moderate Trail Silver Run Trail is a 5 mile loop located 5 miles out of Red Lodge up the West Fork (of Rock Creek) Road. The trailhead is well marked, just head for USFS Basin Campground. The further in you go the more difficult the riding. A few sections are at the weekend warrior level, but, these sections can easily be walked by the novice. There are four loop trails, that are sequentially tied together. Willow Creek Plateau Trail4 miles Elevation: Gains 1000ftEasy to Moderate Trail The Willow Creek Trail follows a lush forested canyon from Palisades Campground to Red Lodge Mountain ski area. The path closely winds along the contours of Willow Creek between limestone Palisades and Grizzly Peak. The trail passes an old mining entrance and an old cabin. There are numerous creek crossings. At times the trail becomes faint.
